By Craig Garcia - Recycling is cool, it's also great for the environment. What I'm referring to right now is not recycling pop cans or plastics (although that's good too)... I'm talking about turning a old ferry from the 1960's into a movable floating swimming pool!
This 120-meter (394-feet) long boat has been re purposed as a floating swimming pool, capable of relocating around waterways to almost any location requested. While these are conceptual pictures, the Badboot Lido is already undergoing a refit and is scheduled to open to the public this August in Antwerp Belgium.
While the main feature of this attraction will be obviously be the 40 meter swimming pool, the design also includes a skating rink ( built on the pool during winter months) several terraces, 2 event venues, a restaurant and a bar as well. In total the boat can accommodate up to 600 people! While this design sounds amazing, I am very much looking forward to seeing this in person later on this year.
