Computers have come a long way since I was a kid. I remember the days when my friend's Commodore 64 was the 'cat's ass' and since then we have seen some remarkable developments.
From vacuum tubes, to microchips, and then to Star Trek style touch screens... and now we are even surpassing what was deemed impossible even for science fictions like Star Trek.
What is the worst part about a touch screen? ... Touching the screen, those finger prints and smudges are a constant bother, but it will soon no longer be an issue. Allow me to introduce you to the Leap from Leap Motion. This marvel of modern technology is THE next big step in user interfaces... while developed for a computer down the road there should be really no problem adapting this to other platforms such as tablets or even your television!
So what is it? It's a small box... more specifically a USB peripheral which creates a 8 cubic foot space in which you can interact with and control software on your computer. It senses the individual movements of all your fingers and hands independently, even those of small objects like a pen and is 200x more sensitive then conventional touch-less technology.
There is no limit as to the practical application for this tech, and is sure to be an immediate hit with artists, engineers, gamers, anyone using a stylus or pointing pen, even surgeons and casual computer users will benefit from this! Don't believe me that this will revolutionize everything we know about computer interfaces?? Check out the video below and maybe swing by their website here too.

Awesome!
